Shiatsu Residential and Final Assessments
Posted by tfootitt on September 25, 2007
I’ve had my final assessment for my Shiatsu course today, 1 and a half days of assesment all over
.
It’s a bit of a strange feeling, knowing that I won’t be meeting up with my fellow students each month to go to a Shiatsu class, having studied with them over a period of 4 years, and that it has now passed. I don’t think it’s quite sunk in yet and will take me some time to do so. We’re planning on meeting reguarly to practice together as a group and I’m really looking forward to that and pleased that the group contact and support will continue.
I have changed and developed so much during my Shiatsu course, with the mutual support from my very good Shiatsu friends, thank you to you all. Namaste
We attended a residential at Poulston Court near Ross on Wye (http://www.poulstone.com/) a week ago, as part of the 3rd year course. We had a fantastic time, joined up with the London schools 3rd year and met some new friends. It really was a great preparation for the final assessments. It enabled us to focus on specific areas and review them with teachers and peers. We got to treat new bodies, see different techniques and share them with each other. It enabled me to put a- side my nerves in relation to the end of year assessments and focus on Shiatsu. It was so nice to receive treatments and get out of my head and back in to my body (grounded). The location, place and food were wonderful, I’d definately go back!
I feel comfortably numb at the minute, definately in another state of transition, another page turned…I wonder whats in store for the next chapter?

Hi Tracy.
It’s been a big growing experience for us all. I feel older and wiser somehow, now that it’s over. I know myself so much better, and am prepared to challenge myself so much more. It’s been very difficult at times, but I stumbled on this today, which sums it up for me:
“The bubbling brook would lose it’s song if you removed the rocks”
Thanks to you too for being a part of it – especially for your grounded wisdom.
I hope you enjoy the next chapter, and I certainly hope I’ll be there to contribute the odd sentence!

Thanks Tony, I’ll get my results in a months time when I will find out if I can take my ‘L’ plates off and put a ‘P’ plate on.
Em, you so know thats true, especially with building a client base up.

I’m so looking forward to having you home more at weekends!! Although I’m sure you’ll still go off on weekend courses as I know you’re not the type of person to think that once you’ve qualified, you just can rest on your laurels and stop learning.
