You might find this worth a read - although maybe not the bit about the kashmiri yoga or you'll be moving to Nottingham!

Hi Pete,

glad you enjoyed your Yoga experience, I had a chat with Kindy last week and she mentioned Kashmiri - it sounds amazing, just too far away!

I've been having a look on the internet and talking to people at work and Hatha yoga seems to be the most common in Leicester so am looking at giving it a go.
look forward to catching up next week

Thanks, had a great time :)

Went along to Iyengar Yoga - absolutely loved it! Thought I was going to crack after the first hour, but it eased slightly after that. Felt like having a great work out, but without being out of breath.

Kindy recommended that I try Kashmiri Yoga, which isn't one of the more common forms, but apparently includes fascial unwinding techniques. I'll be trying that next week and then choosing between the 2.

Definitely worth a chat with Kindy about it though,

Lol, I didn't spot that this was posted in Feb! It's on the top of the Top Posts lists so that got me.

I'm certainly no expert, but there's a few bits on wikipedia about different forms - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga - there's a great big list of different ones at the bottom.

You could maybe try getting in touch with Mel, and seeing if she can point you in the right direction, or Kindy.

Hey Pete, it's great that you're giving Yoga a go!

I'm having a bit of a dilema at the minute about Bikram.
I had some time out earlier this year and haven't really got back into it since. I planned to pick it up around this time of year.

Let me know how you get on with the yang yoga, I feel that a more yin yoga would probably be better for me as my body is so yang!

I got talking to the Yoga instructor at the residential and was advised that Bikram depletes your energy and that another form would be better to raise your energy and increase body strength, so am not really sure what to do at the minute. I think I need to do some research into the different types of Yoga and take it from there, so any insights or tips, websites would be appreciated.:-)

Nice one Trace. You'll have to come along and do some in the sweat-lodge sometime! Take it to the next level by doing in the dark as well!

By coincidence, I'll be starting Iyengar Yoga in a weeks time. Perhaps I'm slightly crazy, but I do fancy getting into the Yang aspect of it... well I say that now...

I'm really keen to carry on with my personal development too. I think it is such an important part of what we are doing, and I agree, great for the clients to see that you're taking your own health seriously.
